CREATING FRONT-OF-PACKAGE WARNING SEALS FOR MEXICO
Software program: Genesis R&D Food

On March 27, 2020, Mexico made several amendments to their food labeling regulations (Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-051-SCFI/SSA1-2010). These revisions overhauled the Front-of-Package requirements including how they look and what information is to be conveyed.
As of October 1, 2023, Mexico will require food manufacturers to move into Phase 2 of FOP updates, which includes updated criteria for FOP symbols. Additionally, Genesis Foods update 11.13 will include an updated "Is Sodium" designation for foods that meet the updated criteria. (If you are not seeing a sodium warning seal, make sure you indicate the "is sodium" designation within the software.)
This tutorial will cover how to create compliant Front-of-Package warning seals using Genesis R&D Foods.
