Professional Training Topics
This training session covers the fundamentals of the Genesis R&D Food program with a primary focus on FDA regulations: creating ingredients and composite ingredients, building recipes/formulas, nutrition analysis, moisture loss, reporting, labeling, best practices, and much more. In addition, this session covers a comprehensive FDA regulatory review.
Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians may claim 12 CPE Credits for this course.
Everything you need to know about navigating the complex regulatory aspects of food labeling, including the most recent changes to the Nutrition Facts label format, newly required mandatory nutrients, changes in Daily Values (DV) and units of measure, and more.
Best practices for creating compliant Nutrition Facts labels using the Genesis R&D label templates. We will walk you through how to determine your serving size, cover package size and label styles such as Standard, Horizontal, Linear, and Dual Column formats. Additionally, we will provide a detailed review of the allowable nutrient options for %DVs, rounding, mandatory vs. voluntary label nutrients, and more.
